Description
I was tasked with revamping the website for Apollo, an organization at the University of Twente dedicated to connecting and representing the university's cultural associations. Their previous website had a sterile, business-like feel that Was not representative of Apollo.
In the redesign, my focus was on showing the human side of Apollo. I showcased real members engaging in various art forms alongside the slogan: 'Apollo unites arts & culture.' This immediately communicates Apollo's purpose to visitors.
Apollo has its own dedicated space for members to socialize and hold meetings. However, an issue arose with irregular opening times, leading to members having to constantly inquire about room availability. To streamline this process, I devised a solution.
Utilizing an ESP32 device to track room status, coupled with an API and some code, the website now dynamically indicates whether the room is accessible for members. This enhancement ensures a smoother experience for all involved.
